Thoughtful Concern

Days when I refresh my inbox every 30seconds once. The success of the person next to you is often the driving force to get better. Gloomy eyes fetching for something forever. If being flexible should have been a great asset of human nature. World has become a market where many clowns try to stand out always trying to find something different. We needed bulb, we needed transportation and we needed telephone. We did have many needs! We found a great job and we built a great house. We wanted to become famous. We pushed some off and we moved to reach at the top. We failed and we passed. We spent hours at work and got back to the luxurious house only to rest. We contributed to hazardous impacts of global warming. We had enough and we turned in for yoga, therapy and counselors. Then again, we bought pills for depression. We went for vacations and we bothered some animals. We took their space and we took felt like we enjoyed. Then we came back and we repeated the same. Didn't have enough? We fought wars within our own religion and with other religions. Lived life this way in a vicious circle.

Feeling Guilty? It’s a contribution time

For the explanation part, I am trying my best for people to realize their existence and do something to break the monotony of life. Do something different…may be ….enjoy life the way small kids do with no conscious of the society. Am I recommending people to act like monkeys or apes and jump around jolly? No I am asking people to go-green. Is this a cool thing? Of course it is. Contributing a little wouldn't harm. I am sure every single go green affected house would contribute to the society at large. It is also important for the market biggies to begin this. We don't need many things we use on an everyday basis. We could do without many. I don't want to get into those details. But figure it out. Find ways to save the resources of our planet Earth.

I do my best by switching off my air conditioner when I am not in the house. For reason one, I get a reduced electricity bill and also get some bonus points for saving resources. I chose to walk rather than take my car out for shorter distances. I get some bonus point goodies for doing this as well; I get some good 20 minute long workout. These two were only examples to demonstrate how we can protect our earth by changing few things in our day to day life.

Declining Species: Our Earth is in big trouble?

A few weeks ago, I happened to visit Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg at the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee State. Unlike many of the aquariums I have visited in past, it was entertaining just like the way they promoted and also provided great deal of information about marine habitats. It might sound like I am writing an essay about the aquarium. I was indeed caught up to see many different marine species. From Stingray to Sharks to Piranhas there seemed two different worlds on the planet Earth alone. Once again, I felt the pomposity of us human beings. For the first time, I happened to see many different colors of extremely beautiful Coral Reefs. I stood there and couldn't help to stop gazing at them. They were in vast varied colors which could never be imitated. I was definitely spell bound. (I could never use this word otherwise J )

Earlier, I had seen many coral reefs only on the television and I never cared to know about them. It was this time I happened to realize a fact that they were not plants. They were indeed marine animals. All this while, I kept thinking that they were algae. Although, from my readings I found that the development of these structures is aided by Algae. A coral reef is a shelter for many fishes and aquatic species. Many of us know that they aid the sea waters avoiding from the pollution. i.e., Coral reefs form natural barriers that protect nearby shorelines from the eroding forces of the sea, thereby protecting coastal dwellings, agricultural land and beaches. Surprisingly, they are even used in the treatment of cancer, HIV, cardiovascular diseases and ulcers. Although, they cover only 1% of the Earth’s surface they are home to 25% of all marine fish.

Despite these facts, many of us don’t realize that they are going to be extinct by the 2050 if the present rate of their declination continues. Many die because they are often shaken or disturbed by the ships and moving boats in the sea and also many die because of pollution in the sea.

Alarmingly, it’s not Coral Reefs alone; there has been declination in tigers, sharks, Pandas causing a treat to human life as well. Without these species, many scientists analyze that there is definite treat to ecological balance. Why did I choose to write about this in my blog? The simple reason being, that in a simple way I had like my friends and other readers of the blog to focus on the global imbalances which have been occurring lately. And most importantly, act accordingly by not disturbing the nature. I know this isn’t easy. I really hope that many people like me will get more aware about the bad impacts of the declining species on the Earth.

I began writing this blog with an intention of finding different solutions to break the monotony of our lives. However, in the process I started to get a feeling that doing small bit to help our lives and the society is essential and it does break the monotony of life atleast in the most valuable direction. Thanks Suchitra....:)
